Start a family, recruit and assign your crew
Buy the $5,000 Office, spend 50 Feature Vault points on recruiting gangsters, then open Criminal Activities > Family to recruit a member and create your family. A business manager is a separate hire; you do not need one to found the family.

Recruit and create the family
The Wiki Quickstart gives the Office prerequisite; Chapter 4 supplies the menu sequence.
- Buy the Office through Real Estate. It opens Office jobs and the recruitment branch.
- Unlock “recruit gangsters into your family” for 50 FV points with Office access.
- Open Criminal Activities > Family and recruit a new gangster. Compare the candidate offer and highlighted XP bonus skill.
- Use the create-family action in the Family section. In the guided story, Chapter 4 asks for recruitment first, then family creation.
- Select member portraits for individual commands or select the group to move together. Equip weapons from each inventory and armor in its dedicated slot.
Put members to work
Family fighters and venue employees use different management systems. Hire growers, chemists and club staff from their respective business screens.
- To delegate Office work, unlock Office job-type assignment for 300 FV points.
- Open Office Manage and assign an eligible gangster or Capo to a job category. Compare the displayed success chance with their skills.
- Review job rewards, deadlines and failure conditions. A fighter assigned to several categories can still only perform an available dispatch.
- Racer assignment reserves a vehicle as well as the member. Release assignments before reusing that car or fighter.
- Automatic Office job acceptance is a separate 300-point unlock with filters. Check assigned work in the Journal.
Development, promotion and dismissal
New recruits have one highlighted XP-bonus skill: normally 2×, with a 10% chance of 3×. Match that skill to their planned work. Each character also has two passive-equipment slots.

Do I need a manager to start a family?
The Wiki route needs an Office and the 50-point recruitment unlock. Recruit and create the family through Criminal Activities > Family. Business managers run separate automation systems.
How do I assign a gangster to work?
For Office jobs, unlock job-type assignment, open Manage, choose a category and assign an eligible available member. Venue production workers are hired separately through venue management.
What is the maximum family size?
The total gangster roster cap is not documented in the reviewed sources. The known Office limits are one promoted Capo at L2 and three at L3.
