How to promote a gangster to Capo
Capo promotion requires the 900-point Feature Vault unlock, an eligible idle gangster, an open promoted-Capo seat and 250 Prestige. Office Level 2 allows one promoted Capo; Level 3 allows three. Employee star training is a different system.

Promote from the Family interface
Chapter 28 directs you to the Family UI for the promotion step after upgrading the Office.
- Buy the promotion node and the Office upgrade unlock you need, then pay for the Office upgrade.
- Check that the Office has an unused promoted-Capo seat and that you have 250 Prestige.
- Select an eligible gangster in Criminal Activities > Family. Release job or patrol assignments before reusing the member; check that they are idle and available rather than reserved or incapacitated.
- Use the Capo promotion action for that member. Review the cost before confirming.
- Use Office Manage for job-category delegation after its separate unlock. Promotion alone does not configure an assignment.
If promotion is unavailable
Check the FV node, the Office level, occupied seats, Prestige balance and member availability. The Wiki does not document a numerical stat bonus from promotion, so no combat multiplier is promised here.
Dismissal spends Prestige
Dismissing an eligible member costs 100 Prestige. The Boss cannot be dismissed. The member must be alive, idle and available in the open world, free of job, patrol, vehicle, shop and direct-control restrictions. The dismissed member keeps their gear and health, becomes hostile and may join a rival or attack your fighters. There is no 100-Prestige refund.

Unlock the promotion node for 900 FV points once; each eligible promotion costs 250 Prestige. Office upgrade nodes and cash upgrades are separate, and you need a free seat.
Can I promote someone while they are assigned to work?
Assignments can reserve fighters and seats. Release job or patrol duties and make the member available before trying another role.
Does firing refund Prestige?
No. Dismissal deducts 100 Prestige and makes the dismissed member hostile.
