How to get and equip a pistol
Unlock handguns in the Feature Vault, buy a pistol at the Weapon Shop, then right-click it in your character inventory to equip it. The wiki lists handguns at 100 points, with rifles at 300 points after the handgun node. Unlocking a category does not include the weapon purchase.

Get your first pistol
- Open the Feature Vault and unlock handguns. The listed prerequisite is melee weapons, which the wiki says are granted through progression.
- Open the map with M and locate the Weapon Shop. Buy a handgun and transfer it to the character who will use it; confirm the shop transaction.
- Open that character inventory and right-click the pistol to equip it. Having a purchased gun on a pallet or another character is not the same as equipping it.
- For the Chapter 4 drive-by, drive to the marked location and use right-click from the car. The wiki says the objective completes when the marked enemy dies, not merely when firing starts.

Reloading and switching
In direct TPS control, use 1 for melee, 2 for a pistol and 3 for a rifle. Hold Q and release over a usable weapon in the wheel; press R to reload. Right mouse aims and left mouse fires on foot. These are the wiki's default keyboard controls; the drive-by interaction is separate.
The available public sources do not establish an ammo vendor, ammo price or a restocking procedure. Reload controls and magazine figures do not prove that ammunition is unlimited.
If a gun will not equip
The wiki says empty weapon slots and broken weapons cannot equip through the wheel. A repair recipe at the Crafting Table returns the weapon; dismantling destroys it for scrap. See the repair guide for material groups. Generic weapon repair does not restore armor.
