KNOWN STEPS, REWARDS AND GAPS
Story objectives and Office jobs
Use the Journal to select a story objective or accepted Office job, then pin its destination on the map. Story chapters introduce systems in order; repeatable Office work adds deliveries, debts, targets, theft and racing. A kill or a purchase alone may not finish the requested delivery or follow-up action.
The chapter steps, rewards and delegation rules below are single-source summaries of the official wiki: https://thebossgangster.com/wiki/ . Some chapters are explicitly incomplete there. This index covers documented milestones rather than claiming a complete 33-chapter walkthrough.
Select the job and check what completion requires
Press J to open the Journal and M for the map. Pin the relevant objective; selecting another entry preserves previous progress. Check deadlines on Office jobs before making a detour. Some story chapters also wait for a gameplay trigger or depend on the starting mode.
- Target or delivery job: identify the named destination and required cargo. A target body may need bagging and transport to a drop-off; killing alone may not complete it.
- Chapter 4 drive-by: recruit through Criminal Activities > Family, create the family, unlock and buy a pistol, equip it, then defeat the marked enemy from the car. Merely firing does not finish the objective.
- Chapter 27 delivery: move product into the hot dog stand. Rearranging stock already in that stand does not count as a new delivery.
Story milestones and known rewards
The entries below paraphrase the wiki. Dollar rewards and Feature Vault points are different resources; these selected rewards are not a complete payout list.
| Chapter | Documented objective or route | Recorded reward or limitation |
|---|---|---|
| 2: Life on the Streets | Three successful pickpockets, then doorman, hot dog and taxi work | 100 Feature Vault points on chapter completion |
| 3: Small Office Big Plans | Buy an Office; complete three Office jobs | $2,000 on the three-job objective |
| 4: Create Your Family | Recruit, create the family, equip a purchased pistol and complete the drive-by target | $5,000 on the final objective |
| 5-9: First production | Acquire property and supplies; grow a plant, dry it, then process it at a Crafting Table | Equipment unlocks and purchases are separate |
| 10: Street Deal | Unlock Sales Points; bring processed Broccoli and sell one product | $10,000 and 200 Feature Vault points on chapter completion |
| 11: Small Lab | Unlock and place a Lab Table; buy ingredients and successfully produce a formula | $20,000 on chapter completion |
| 24-26: Warehouse production | Buy the warehouse; place growing, drying and processing equipment; hire workers; set up a Lab Room and chemist | Manual Lab Table and warehouse Lab Room are separate systems |
| 27-28: Distribution and Office | Unlock a stand, donate for its purchase opportunity, buy and stock it; complete a Cartel contract; later interrogate and promote | Cartel terms are contract-specific; no fixed contract payout is asserted here |
| 29: Claim Your Territory | Claim a sales spot, extort a business in the same district, reach 200 Prestige, start and defend the district fight | Bring armed family members before starting the fight |
| 31: Car Theft | Unlock theft, steal the striped Street Racer and deliver it to the port | Only one of two objectives documented |
| 32: Bloody Revenge | Go to the named place, defeat five targets, bag the required body, load the trunk and deliver to the construction site | The construction site is a mission destination, not a universal body dump |
| 33: Absolute Dominance | Capture all Vice Kings territories | Only one of two objectives documented |
Office work: perform it or delegate
Buy the Office to receive clients and jobs. Before accepting, inspect the requested action, time limit, reward and failure conditions. Deliveries, debt collection, targets, theft and racing are separate job categories.
After unlocking Office job-type assignment, use Manage to assign eligible Capos or gangsters to categories. Preview the skill-based success chance. A Racer assignment reserves a vehicle, so that car cannot be called from the garage until released. Automatic acceptance has its own unlock and filters; it does not change the pinned objective.
Where the public walkthrough stops
The wiki covers only one of twelve Chapter 1 objectives, four of five in Chapter 12, none of three in Chapter 30, and one of two each in Chapters 31 and 33. No dependable missing-step sequence is supplied here.
No reviewed source establishes a mission or activity named blunt raid. It is not treated as a confirmed job. Defeating a rival Boss destroys that family according to the wiki; winning one rival-business raid is a different result.
Questions
Why did a kill not finish my job?
Some jobs require a particular target or a body delivery. Select the relevant Journal entry and follow its task-specific destination. Chapter 32 explicitly requires bagging and trunk transport.
Why can I not call my car during Office work?
The wiki says a Racer assignment reserves a vehicle until the assignment releases it. This is distinct from simply owning a car.
Is this a complete story walkthrough?
No. It is an index of supported milestones and job rules. Several chapters have explicitly incomplete source coverage, including Chapter 30 with no dependable steps.
