Same game, new name
If you remember Nightlife, you are not looking at a sequel. Official Early Access posts in October 2025 use the Nightlife wording. The Games Press release on 13 February 2026 says the game was previously titled The Boss Gangsters: Nightlife and calls the current name The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire. Steam, GOG, and SteamDB then agree that 1.0 arrived on 27 October 2026.
I also watched older videos that still say Nightlife in the title, including Charlie Pryor's session. They are footage of this game's earlier build, not a different product. The nightclub you run inside the game is a building. The word in the old title is the product name. Those are easy to mix up, and the layout page covers the building.
What changed in public
The press release said 16 custom tracks. The official site later says 34 tracks and 3 radio stations. I do not have a changelog line that says the extra songs arrived on a specific day. The name change itself is dated by the press release, not by a Steam rename post I could quote. Steam news around that day did not spell out the rename in the items I sampled.
