When the game stutters or dies
Version 1.0 shipped on 27 October 2026 and Steam news the same week lists Hotfix 1, 2, and 3 on the 27th plus a performance hotfix on the 28th. If you are crashing on an old Early Access install, update before you change Windows settings. Patch notes on this site only summarize those posts.
I read the launch-crash thread 569300839163838206. The developer suggested deleting the folder AppData/LocalLow/BefGames. They did not say it fixes every machine, and I have not reproduced it. A separate thread describes a hospital treatment that left the camera stuck back at the club. The developer asked for steps. I do not have a confirmed camera fix beyond updating.
Steps that have a source
Update through Steam or GOG so you are on the 28 October hotfix or newer. Then, if the game still dies at startup, the only folder a developer named is AppData/LocalLow/BefGames. Back up saves before you delete anything. I do not have a second source that maps which files inside that folder are safe.
