How the free demo works
Steam lists a demo, not a trial mode inside the full game. The store text says you get up to one hour of gameplay from the main game. thebossgangster.com repeats that as a one-hour free demo. Both were checked on 29 October 2026.
I read the demo appdetails record next to a Steam thread where players said the timer ends the session and that restarting did not give them another hour. Tripwire's community staff replied on another thread that the demo build is outdated and is being updated. They did not give a date.
Install the official demo
Open the separate Steam demo listing at https://store.steampowered.com/app/2820150/. Choose the free download/install option and let Steam install the Windows demo. The full game listing is app 2774040; buying it is a separate transaction.
The demo listing and the official website both describe up to one hour. The timer-reset report and the publisher comment about an older demo are separate dated community observations, not promises about the current demo build.
Demo versus the full game
The demo is AppID 2820150. The full game is 2774040. Buying the full game is a separate install. Nothing in the demo API record says your demo save carries over, so I am not claiming that it does.

If the hour is not enough
The full game was $18.99 on Steam US, or $15.19 during the 20% discount I saw. Valve refunds purchases inside 14 days if you have played under two hours. That rule is about the full game, not a promise that the demo resets.
Questions
Does the demo reset every day?
No source I checked says it resets. Players reported that the hour ends the session. Treat a reset as unconfirmed.
Is the demo the 1.0 build?
Tripwire said the demo build was outdated and being updated. No new demo date was posted in the reply I read.
